So, if you don't know, Ipsy is a subscription where you get 4-5 beauty products (like really good ones) monthly for just $10 a month (or you can get a yearly subscription like me). It was started by Michelle Phan, who is a beauty Goddess, and beauty gurus everywhere swear by it. I recently got her book and it was mentioned so i thought, why not subscribe? I'm in love. This months was the first one that i got and i'm super excited to get the August one. On the site you take a survey when you sign up so that all the products you get are personalized (skin tone, eye colour, makeup preferences). You can even choose which brands you want to get products from. So i thought that doing a review would be a great signal boost for not only these products but Ipsy itself.
I was super excited when i got that hot pink package in the mail. When i looked inside i thought that the bag was a little small but i remembered that i only get 4-5 things so it was all good. It's a super cute bag and each month has a different theme so it fit the summer theme really well. Plus now i have a matching makeup bag for my blue purse so all is good. |
I feel rich. Not only did i get a NARS blush for $5 but i got a Tarte bronzer for $10 (worth $30). I was super excited and still am because i have wanted this product forever. I got the shade Park Ave Princess (ha!) and i've been obsessed ever since. Now i thought (based on a first glance) that the tarte bronzer would be my favourite product o this month, but it's a very close call. I thought, 'oh ok i got a nice neutral pink lipstick to add to my neverending collection' but (and i don't know how they did it) this shade is the perfect nude pink that matches my lips brilliantly. And another thing...it smells like marshmallows! I'm not even kidding. I got the shade Pink (how original but oh well) and i'm never going back. I am very picky about perfume. However, in the spirit of excitement and my new found love for Ipsy,i decided to try it. It's a small roll on perfume and it actually smells really good. I have absolutely no idea what it's called but it was surprisingly nice. So at first i was like 'ok i needed another chapstick and Ipsy did me a solid' but apparently i need to reevaluate my life choices because this is the best chapstick i have ever used and i don't know why. When it goes on it feels like a soft wax almost but it's super thin and you can't even tell it's on there. You know when chapstick is just too thick and you can't help but rub your lips together until it comes off? Personally i am a victim of this but not with this chapstick. Plus, it smells great. | Who doesn't need blue eyeliner? I love the pigmentation and it stays forever. Like i couldn't get it off easily, which for me is great cuz it means it will last on stage. |
So that's my review this month. I cannot wait til i get my next Ipsy bag. If you guys are interested, heres my discount code.
